Brown I

The interpretation of the belt colors, which follows, is but one of many possible meanings.

The brown 1 belt also signifies the transformation of the student toward maturation and aging in the Martial Arts. The student is only a few steps from becoming a BLACK belt. At this stage in training the student should continue developing his or her own techniques. The student who wears the brown 1 belt, because of continued maturation in technique, should begin to show an interest toward the teaching of lower ranks. The brown 1 belt also signifies higher rank and the wearer must exhibit flawless self-control, and show mastery of "all" previous techniques, another step closer to the BLACK belt.
