The interpretation of the belt colors, which follows, is but one of many possible meanings.

The red belt signifies the intense heat from the sun that continues to burn inside the student who pushes forward toward the goal of becoming a BLACK belt. Begin to master self-developed techniques. The maturation is still a slow process, one that begins and ends at the beginning, which of course, is not an ending, but a beginning, again. The red belt also signifies higher rank and the wearer shows caution as his or her knowledge and physical abilities continue to increase. The red belt is also a sign for the opponent to be careful of the wearer. Continue to exhibit flawless self-control, and show mastery of "all" previous techniques, another step closer to the BLACK belt.
